During his tenure as MP, Dennis Waweru played a key role in transforming Dagoretti South through strategic lobbying for road development and infrastructure upgrades.
The tarmacking of the Riruta Satellite–Dagoretti Market Road opened up major economic opportunities. The improved road encouraged hundreds of PSV operators to purchase Dama taxis and tuk tuks, creating employment for thousands of young people.

The tarmacking of Muhuri Road also had a major impact. It enabled tens of Nissan PSV vehicles to introduce a new route, 23B, which in turn created hundreds of job opportunities for operators and support businesses.
Similarly, the upgrade of the Dagoretti Market–Muitindia–Base Road boosted transport activities, with many tuk tuk operators benefiting from increased business along the newly improved route.
Overall, between 2013 and 2018, Dennis Waweru successfully lobbied for the construction of over 50 kilometres of roads in Dagoretti South. This infrastructure investment triggered a construction boom, raised land values, and generated thousands of jobs across the construction and real estate sectors.
Dennis Waweru’s period in office demonstrated how focused infrastructure development could uplift communities and stimulate broad economic growth.
